Correcting or changing a name on a Scoot flight booking: What are the rules?

Undoubtedly, no passenger can board their flight booked with Scoot if the name on their ID differs from the name printed on their boarding pass.

What if the names on your flight reservation do not match the one on your passport?

The policy for changing or correcting names on flight reservations varies from airline to airline, but fortunately, Scoot offers its passengers some flexibility when it comes to correcting or changing their first or last name on their reservation.

Unlike many airlines, which require passengers to rebook and be charged for a new ticket if the name is incorrect, Scoot offers a flexible booking option.

How much does this service cost?

The low-cost airline offers its passengers the option to change or correct their first and last names for a fee ranging from:

– From 60 SGD to 100 SGD: If the correction is made online

– From 90 SGD to 110 SGD: If a Scoot agent intervenes by phone

– From 110 SGD to 130 SGD: If the name change or correction is made by a third party (e.g., a travel agency).

Note that Scoot does not charge a fee for name correction or change requests made within the first 24 hours of booking a flight.

Probably, fees are not charged for minor corrections, such as typos made during booking. Instead, Scoot charges a fee for complete name changes due to, for example, divorce, a change of maiden name after marriage, etc.

How do I modify, correct, or change my name on a Scoot flight ticket reservation?

– For a minor correction:

View your booking by logging into your Manage Booking account. Enter your last name or email address and your booking reference.

When viewing your booking, go to the section containing your personal details, correct it, and then confirm your booking.

– For a complete name change:

You must call Scoot customer service, explain the error, ask for assistance, and follow the instructions to correct it.

When dealing with customer service representatives, you may be able to negotiate a lower fare, but do not expect a refund or transfer of your ticket to someone else.

You will need to provide government documentation confirming your name change, such as a marriage certificate, court order, divorce certificate, or other official forms.

To do this, you need to call your company’s customer service, explain the error, ask for help, and follow the instructions to get it fixed.

Flight booking made through a travel agency?

It’s up to the travel agency to handle the entire process.
