Changi Airport: The Terminal 1 guide

Singapore Changi International Airport, one of the most modern in the world, has four terminals. Terminal 1 (T1) boasts a huge biodome called “Jewel“, combining lush jungle and lavish luxury.

All three terminals of Terminal 1 are connected to this domes by glass walkways.

Completely renovated, this terminal can handle 18 million passengers per year and is expected to once again make Changi the largest international hub in Asia.

Changi Airport’s Terminal 1 has only one hotel, called T1 Transit, and yet it’s a perfect place to spend a peaceful night.

The hotel is located within the airport grounds, on Level 3 above gate D41 of Terminal 1. His staff is available 24/7, but you can also make a reservation in advance without prepayment by calling +65 6808 2388.

How to get to Changi Airport terminal: Which means of transport?

If you’re arriving at Singapore Changi Airport by plane, you have access to an extensive public transportation network to get around the region.

  • By Bus

If your flight arrives at T1, this terminal is connected to the country’s capital by the following bus routes: 24, 27, 34, 36, 53, 110, and 858.

Shuttle fare: Ranging from S$9 to S$12

  • By Train

Although more expensive than the bus, the train remains a convenient and fast option for traveling to and from Changi Airport Terminal 1 and other parts of the city.

To get to Airport Terminal 1 by train, you must use the East West Link to arrive at Tanah Merah MRT Station, then EW4/CG, then board the line leading to Changi Airport MRT CG2.

  • Sundays & public holidays: First train at 5:47 AM, last train at 11:50 PM
  • Other days of the week: First train at 5:20 AM, last train at 11:50 PM.

The airport has a parking garage in T1 “Car Park” offering 2,500 parking spaces on five underground levels.

This multi-use complex serves as a hub between Terminals 1, 2, and 3. The parking lot is accessible and monitored 24 hours a day.

Parking fees: S$1 for 30 minutes, and S$35 for 24 hours.
