Student travelers benefit from a generous baggage allowance
Additional benefits for those who booked their Singapore Airlines flight with the Student Fare: An improved checked baggage allowance:
– In Economy and Premium Economy Class
- On flights to the United States & Canada: 3 x 23 kg
- On flights to other destinations: A total of 40 kg of baggage.
– In Business Class:
- On flights to the United States & Canada: 3 x 32 kg
- On flights to other destinations: A total of 50 kg of baggage.
Total flexibility
The majority of travelers strongly prefer flexible fares and those that can be changed free of charge, and this is what is possible when you book your Singapore Airlines flight with the Student Fare.
Regarding the cancellation of Singapore Airlines flights booked with the student fare, it mainly depends on the ticket type. If it is refundable or includes a Flex option, it can be canceled free of charge.
However, if the new ticket price is higher, you will have to pay the fare difference. Most tickets can be changed from the Manage Booking space.
Singapore Airlines Student Fare eligibility requirements
– Be a member of the KrisFlyer loyalty program: Membership in this program is the first requirement to be eligible to travel on the Student Fare.
– Secondly, you must verify your student status: Which you can do by logging into your KrisFlyer account. Identity verification is done online using the SheerID service (available only in the following countries). Only students over the age of sixteen can verify their student status.

– Once you confirm your eligibility, you can proceed to booking using one of Singapore Airlines’ channels: online (at Singaporair.com or its mobile app) or at an authorized travel agency.
Practical information to know about the student status verification service:
– Attach supporting documents: Attach three documents to the form, including your ID card and student ID card. The total size of all three documents must be less than 10 MB.
– You will receive a letter confirming your status (within 48 hours).
– A further review of your status may be requested (requesting you to attach additional supporting documents).
– The documents attached for student status verification must have been issued within the last three months, otherwise the process may fail.
– If you are planning to book a multi-city itinerary, you should contact Singapore Airlines customer service instead, as you cannot do this online.
