Singapore Changi Airport: Terminal 3 Guide

Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3 boasts state-of-the-art technology and spacious facilities, providing travelers with a more efficient, comfortable, and secure experience. Located adjacent to Terminal 1, it spans 380,000 square meters and can accommodate 22 million passengers annually.

The environmentally friendly design of T3 is also an attractive feature for passengers. It features large interior gardens that provide relaxation areas for airport passengers.

Services available at T3

– Check-in counter

Regular counters: generally open 3 hours before the flight.

– Self-service Kiosks: T3 has a large number of self-service check-in and baggage drop-off kiosks, located on Level 2. These kiosks allow you to check in for your flight without being directed by the agent, and then allow you to print your boarding pass and go directly to the security checkpoint before reaching your departure lounge.

– Fast Bag Drop

This counter is for passengers who have checked in online for their flight and printed their boarding pass. These passengers can drop off their baggage here, saving valuable time at the airport.

 

Terminal 3 facilities

Changi Airport T3 consists of several popular facilities namely:

– Supermarket: Four supermarkets are located in the heart of Terminal 3, spread across levels 1, 2, 3, and B2.

– Prayer Room: Located on levels 2 of the terminal, it is open at any time of day to Muslims wishing to pray before departure.

– Play Areas: To prevent your children from getting bored while waiting at the airport, you can take them to the play areas available within Terminal 3 of Changi Airport, spread across levels 2 and B2.

Shower and SPA (Natureland): Changi Airport Terminal 3 has showers and a treatment and wellness area on Level 1, open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Before a day or night flight, or during a connecting flight, this wellness area, called Natureland Spa, is available to both men and women and is accessible to all visitors.

 

Transportation services

– Taking a bus

Terminal 3 is served from outside by the following shuttle buses: 24, 27, 34, 36, 53, 110, and 858.

If you wish to take the bus to downtown Singapore from the terminal, you must go underground and wait for it to arrive.

A shuttle bus generally runs every 15 minutes from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

– By taxi

The taxi stations are indicated outside the arrival zones of terminal 3:

– Comfort or CityCab: +65 6552 1111

– Prime Taxi: +65 6778 0808

– Trans-Cab: +65 6555 3333

The fare ranges between S$4.50 and S$5.50 for departure or airport destination flights.

– By renting a car

Thanks to this service, customers, whether passengers or visitors, are privileged because they can pick up a car and drive from the airport to any part of the city and vice versa, saving significant time and avoiding the tedious wait for buses or taxis.

Five car rental companies offer their services at Changi Airport Terminal 3: Grab, Gojek, Zig, Tada Mobility, and Ryde, offering new fleets that allow their customers to drive in comfort and safety.

– By train:

Changi Airport, with its four terminals, is connected to downtown Singapore by train, which is accessible from the Airport MRT Station (CG2). The train will take you to Tanah Merah Station, where you must take the East-West Line to reach Tuas Link MRT Station (EW33), located in the city center.

To reach T3 by train, follow the same route in reverse.

  • Departure times:
  • The first train arrives daily at 5:31 AM (and on Sundays at 5:59 AM).
  • The last train departs daily to Tuas Link at 11:18 PM, then connects to Pasir Ris at 12:06 AM.

 

Parking

Changi Airport Terminal 3 has two car parks, Car Park 3A and Car Park 3B, built on three levels and capable of accommodating a total of 1,600 cars and up to 130 motorcycles.

Parking rates: S$0.65 for each 15-hour parking period. A daily fee of S$57.60 (for parking of 15 hours or more) is charged.

Rest areas for passengers who want to relax for a few hours during their connection; an observatory to admire runways and planes; and a large area designed to accommodate restaurants offering different cuisines from around the world.

Lounges that welcome Premium passengers before departure

– The SilverKris Lounge

There are several lounges belonging to several airlines operating from Changi Airport T3, such as Singapore Airlines, which welcomes its Business, First & Suites Class passengers to its SilverKris Lounge. Located on the mezzanine level near Gate A, this space is designed as a true high-end concierge service.

With a capacity of nearly 600 passengers, this luxurious, exclusive lounge is also reserved for passengers.

– The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge

Upon passing through security, Singapore Airlines passengers, particularly KrisFlyer Elite Gold members or Star Alliance Gold members traveling in Economy Class, are invited to visit this luxurious lounge before each departure.

– Other independent lounges located in Terminal 3

SATS Premier Lounge: Located on the mezzanine level. It opens daily to welcome passengers traveling with Singapore Airlines partner airlines.

Access to this lounge is also available to other passengers or their companions by purchasing a Priority Pass.

  • DNATA Lounge: Just after security checkpoints, you’ll find this lounge, which is accessible only with a Priority Pass.
  • The Haven by JetQuay: This is a small rest area for passengers who arrive early at the airport and wish to enjoy a moment of relaxation before check-in.

A small lounge is available for an additional fee for passengers wishing to relax before check-in.

Temporary or Partner Lounges: Used by other airlines (e.g., Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines) if they do not have their own lounges.

T3 features a more functional retail space, redesigned around new shops and restaurants featuring Singaporean and other flavors, offering a variety of Asian and American specialties, including halal and kosher food:

Bikanervala: Located on Level 4, open from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Canton Paradise Congee: Located on Basement 2, open Monday to Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Central Thai: Located on Level 3, open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Crown Prince Kitchenette: Located on Level 3 and open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

A hotel inside Terminal T3

The Ambassador Transit Hotel is located on Level 3 of Terminal 3 and offers standard and double rooms. The hotel offers short- and long-term accommodation:

– For 3 hours, the rate is S$130

– For 12 hours, the rate is S$331

– For 24 hours, the rate is S$425.
