All about Singapore Airlines flight ticket cancellation policy

Imagine that a few months ago, you booked a flight with Singapore Airlines, whether for your studies, work, or simply for tourism. You’ve been planning your trip for months, but an unforeseen event prevents you from doing so.

We’ll explain the options for canceling your ticket and getting your money back.

Cancel your booking free of charge : the 24-hour rule

Did you know that you can cancel your trip with Singapore Airlines without paying any fees? This means a full refund of your ticket.

In the airline world, all bookings are subject to a cancellation policy stating the deadline for canceling or changing your booking free of charge.

With Singapore Airlines, date changes or cancellations made within the first 24 hours of booking your flight are possible and free of charge. If applicable, a refund will be issued within a maximum of one week.

If you cancel or change your flight booking after this time, Singapore Airlines will apply the fees indicated in the cancellation policy that appears on your ticket and booking confirmation.

How do I cancel my booking and request a refund?

To do so, simply fill out this form. Singapore Airlines reminds you that requests are reserved for individuals who booked through its website, mobile app, or Customer Contact Center. For customers who booked through an agency, please contact your agency to request a refund.

What does “Non-Refundable” mean?

Non-refundable reservations and special offers do not allow date changes or cancellations, as they offer lower prices.

Cancelling or changing a “Non-Refundable” reservation will result in 100% of the fees being applied.

How do I change a Singapore Airlines booking?

You can do this via the Manage your Booking section. Remember to check the fare conditions of your ticket before making any changes. Special offers such as award tickets (booked with miles) may have different cancellation policies.

Purchase cancellation insurance

To avoid any inconvenience related to the unexpected cancellation of your trip, it’s a good idea to purchase cancellation insurance, especially when you decide to take a short trip to another destination well in advance and your personal and professional situation is unstable.

On the other hand, if you do not take out cancellation insurance, you risk losing the entire amount already paid, especially if a travel agency has prepared your itinerary.

The insurance amount is non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or changed.
