Singapore Airlines prepares to open three destinations in Indonesia

Singapore Airlines has announced its intention to serve several new destinations in Indonesia, including Belitung, Palembang, and Semarang.

The carrier, which has an extensive network in Southeast Asia, plans to support its expansion with the planned opening of three new routes from Changi to key tourist destinations in Indonesia.

Indeed, Singapore Airlines’ initiative to launch new scheduled services to Indonesia is a response to President Prabowo Subianto’s call to facilitate the creation of air bridges with the Southeast Asian country, helping to deepen regional connectivity and improve tourism with one of the largest countries in the region.

“Even though there are currently charter flights connecting the two countries with a high passenger load factor, there is a lack of scheduled flights that could strengthen this flow. Reestablishing connections between these two countries will open several other avenues for tourism and economic development.” announced an airline spokesperson in a statement to the Indonesian press.

With our fleet, we aim to offer more alternatives and choices to our travelers,” she added.

For Singaporeans who want to spend their holidays in Indonesia, as well as Indonesians who also want to go to Singapore for a weekend or a longer stay, they can take Singapore Airlines flights, which will likely operate year-round.
