Singapore Changi Airport, which handled nearly 68 million passengers last year, aims to welcome even more visitors in the coming years. To this end, it is seeking agreements with several airlines to open new international routes.
A new airline will soon arrive at Changi Airport
An airline belonging to a major Middle Eastern country may arrive at Singapore Changi Airport. According to Lim Ching Kiat, Executive Vice President of Changi Airport Group (CAG), this is Riyadh Air, the Saudi Arabian airline, which plans to launch a direct route from Singapore to Riyadh King Khalid.
It is worth noting that another airline will be arriving at Changi next November. MIAT Mongolian Airlines will offer year-round flights to the Singapore airport from Ulaanbaatar.
Promising new plans for airport modernization
Changi Airport is also committed to providing its passengers with ever-improving service. To meet the expectations of a growing customer base, the CAG aims to implement new measures to streamline passenger flow at the airport.
The Singapore Airport Group is investing a total of SGD 3 billion to modernize the airport terminals and its various other infrastructure.
According to the CAG, Changi will embark on another major transformation with the construction of the fifth terminal. This mega-project is scheduled for completion in 2030.
