Singapore Changi Airport welcomed 17.5 million passengers during the second quarter of this year, a 5.9% year-on-year increase. These results were revealed in a press release by Changi Airport Group (CAG), the airport’s managing company.
During the April-June period, aircraft movements at Changi reached 92,700, including takeoffs and landings: 31,000 movements in April (+6%), 31,000 movements in May (+5.1%), and 30,000 movements in June (+9.2%).
Five countries were key to this increase in passenger traffic recorded at Changi Airport, with China being the largest market, followed by Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and India.
Freight activity on the rise
Freight throughput also increased during the second quarter of the current year, by 6.2% to reach 516,000 tonnes. This increase was driven by five key markets, including Australia, China, and the United States.
