Changi Airport: Cargo activity up in the second quarter

Changi Airport has released its cargo activity report for the second quarter of this year. According to the data released, Singapore Airport recorded a 6.2% year-on-year growth, with 516,000 tonnes of cargo transported from its tarmac.

Indeed, the indicators were positive for all cargo activities and services provided at the airport, namely cross-border e-commerce and import activities, which showed an 8% increase compared to the same period last year.

Changi Airport recorded 516,000 tonnes of air cargo in the second quarter of 2025, an increase of 6.2% compared to the same period last year.

Five key markets outperformed these figures and boosted cargo activity to and from the airport: Australia, China, the United States, India, and Hong Kong.

“These exceptional results impressively reaffirm that Changi Airport is now firmly established as a transportation infrastructure hub in Asia and around the world. The primary beneficiaries of this development are travelers and businesses who benefit from connections to major cities and markets around the world.” said Lim Ching Kiat, Changi Airport Group Executive Vice President, Airline Development and Cargo.

Best airport in the world

Singapore Changi Airport has been named the best airport in the world by Skytrax. This is its tenth award in the last thirteen years.

The Singapore airport was also ranked first in Skytrax’s ranking for leisure and restroom facilities.
