Singapore Airlines shares more with Garuda Indonesia

Singapore Airlines and Garuda Indonesia have strengthened their agreement to facilitate travel for their customers beyond Changi and Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta airports.

Several codeshare agreements have been strengthened, allowing each airline to access all routes served by its partner and sell them on its own terms.

Specifically, this agreement will allow Singapore Airlines to offer its customers flights between Denpasar and Labuan Bajo. It can also offer flights on the Jakarta-Labuan Bajo or Lombok-Manado routes.

Conversely, Garuda Indonesia offers its customers flights from Singapore-Changi to four destinations within the SIA network: Bengaluru, Male, Kolkata, and Delhi.

The codeshare agreement will be extended to other destinations subject to required regulatory approvals and the completion of necessary internal procedures.

On the affected routes, customers with a single ticket for their entire journey will benefit from a single fare.

“As the national airline and a member of the Star Alliance, Singapore Airlines is honored to extend its codeshare agreement with Garuda Indonesia” said Goh Choon Phong, CEO of Singapore Airlines.

“Garuda Indonesia welcomes this partnership, which opens up new development opportunities in the Indian Ocean. It demonstrates our commitment to working together to further strengthen our offering and provide our passengers with a wide choice of destinations in Singapore and beyond,” said Wamildan Tsani, CEO of Garuda Indonesia.

Their loyalty programs are joining forces to offer members more privileges

The loyalty programs of Singapore Airlines (KrisFlyer) and Garuda Indonesia (GarudaMiles) will also be merged, giving their passengers the opportunity to earn miles on all eligible flights marketed by both airlines.

Members of both rewards programs can also use their miles to access both airlines’ lounges at airports worldwide.
