A Singapore Airlines plane was forced to turn back after experiencing a technical malfunction mid-flight.
The aircraft was operating flight SQ228 from Melbourne to Changi.
According to News.az, the plane turned back a few minutes after taking off from the Australian airport yesterday at 4:51 p.m.
The plane, carrying more than 200 passengers, had been airborne for several hours and was flying over the north of the city when the problem was detected.
Sam, a listener of radio station 3AW, recounted: “The plane flew at a very low altitude, to the point where we could see the landing gear extending and even the heads of the passengers on board.”
According to the Australian media outlet, the pilot managed to land the plane safely on the tarmac at Melbourne Airport.
