A Singapore Airlines plane had to turn back mid-flight due to a technical malfunction.
Flight SQ661, which was scheduled to depart Hokkaido-New Chitose (CTS) from Singapore-Changi (SIN) on January 10, had to turn back fifty minutes after its 9:30 a.m. takeoff, returning to its point of origin.
Passengers ultimately endured a journey of approximately seven hours. They remained stuck on the plane for the entire duration as the aircraft was grounded while the maintenance team worked to resolve the issue. However, the problem was not resolved, and the airline announced the cancellation of the flight.
The reason why the passengers of flight SQ661 were unable to disembark the aircraft is believed to be related to the coordination of ground logistics, specifically that there was a bus service providing transport for passengers to the terminal after they disembarked.
