Singapore Airlines reduces flight size on several routes this winter

By | August 31, 2025

This winter, the airline’s schedule will be reduced to flights to Europe and North Asia. In return, several of its services will be intensified, particularly its flights to key destinations such as Auckland, Busan and Colombo.

Explaining these adjustments, the airline stated in a press release: “Singapore Airlines is evolving its business model to better meet customer expectations and reduce its unit costs.”

In this context, the schedule adaptation plan initiated for the 2025/2026 winter season involves seeking a better balance between the number of frequencies and aircraft size.

Planned changes to Singapore Airlines’ schedule in Europe

In Spain, Singapore Airlines is suspending its direct flights between Changi and Barcelona-El Prat for one month, but will nevertheless maintain its flights to the Catalan capital, which include a stopover in Milan.

At London Heathrow in the United Kingdom, Singapore Airlines will suspend one of the four daily frequencies included in its schedule between January and February.

Singapore Airlines will fly to Munich (Germany) five times a week instead of seven throughout February.

The reduction in capacity at Singapore Airlines will also affect Paris-CDG, with a slight reduction in service, from 11 to 10 weekly flights.

Rome, for its part, will be affected by the change introduced to Singapore Airlines’ winter schedule. Its Fiumicino Airport will welcome three weekly flights instead of the four operated during the same period last year.

North Asia is no exception

Singapore Airlines’ reduced service also includes its flights to Southeast Asian destinations, such as:

Beijing, the Chinese capital, will benefit from only two daily flights in winter instead of three, while SIN will completely suspend its flights to Beijing-Daxing during the January-February period.

Osaka Airport in Japan will also see the number of flights operated by Singapore Airlines from Changi Airport reduced by one daily frequency, from three to two.

Seoul and Hong Kong are the latest destinations to which the Singaporean airline plans to reduce its flight frequencies, operating three daily flights instead of four for the South Korean capital, and serving 34 weekly flights instead of 35 to the Thai capital.

Increased service to these destinations

Auckland, Busan, Christchurch, Colombo, Frankfurt, Taipei, Sapporo, and Tokyo will all benefit from increased service from Changi this winter.
