Singapore Changi International Airport, one of the most modern in the world, has introduced a or a bamboo forest, a world first.
According to the Travel Trade Journal, the garden, called Bamboo Grove, is designed over an area of 526 square meters. It is located near Terminal 2. It is open 24/7 and is free to all passengers and visitors to Changi Airport.
Already inspired by the famous Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Kyoto, Japan, visitors to the Changi Bamboo Grove will discover a wide variety of bamboo species from different Asian countries, including black bamboo, Buddha bamboo, and monastery bamboo.
While visiting the garden, visitors will also be able to observe the slender bamboo and stone paths surrounded by lush plants.
As they approach, visitors can also admire the Jewel’s plant complex, spanning 22000 m². A sort of super Phoenix Park (a Nice botanical garden whose 7000 m² central greenhouse takes the form of a glass marquee and houses several different biozones).
At nightfall, the atmosphere becomes magical with the projection onto the garden, which is not far from the Rain Vortex Cascade, the Canopy Park, and the Jewel hedge mazes… true focal points of this historic airport.
