Singapore Airlines plans to deploy its A380 on its Singapore-Hong Kong route, replacing the current Boeing 777-300ER, but this aircraft change is scheduled for next year.
The deployment of the A380 on this route is intended to increase the number of seats to accommodate the high demand typically experienced on this route during peak season.
The A380 has 471 seats, compared to only 264 seats on the 777-300ER.
Singapore Airlines will use its A380 to operate its scheduled flights to Hong Kong International Airport between June 21 and July 25, offering five daily departures from its Changi hub.
The national airline will therefore temporarily use its super-jet on its Hong Kong route. The B777-300 ER will return to service passengers on this medium haul route for the remainder of the year.
